"An avid photoholic since I was young, I received my first camera when I was 13. It was a beautiful old Voigtlander Rangefinder given to me by my mother. The rampant light leakage and persistent violet vignetting on every photograph didn't dissuade me.  It was this magical mechanical device that gave me the creative freedom to show people how I saw my world. I can't claim to have enjoyed being involved with the school photography club as I was often seen as difficult because of my intolerance of the status quo.  So by my late teens I felt there was more to how I could use this device other than merely as a mathematical series of actions resulting in a technically pleasing picture. And so, when I purchased my first SLR with all the trimmings, a true love affair began. Fast forward to my early adult years and although I'd point my camera at almost anything that interested me, I instinctively began to hone my skills as a portrait photographer. My love for this pure connection. The clash between vulnerability and trust, and to become a mirror to those I've been so fortunate to photograph.  This connection with my subjects and the blessing of being able to communicate my own language through my camera, has been the root of that love affair. I'm a photographer, because it's the conduit to sharing my world with those who view my work. Yes, I've been very fortunate to have been a photojournalist for several magazines, been commissioned by large multinational corporations, government bodies of all levels, I've been a macroist photographer in the world of mycology in my down time, and now currently working on visual content for a significant cinematic documentary. The resonating truth behind it all is, that the most important client I've ever worked with, will be you. I thrive on that connection!"
